Sustainable Design. Exceptional Craftsmanship.

In partnership with Katja Jobs of k.jo Pacific Northwest Marketing, the mj.installations woodshop expands beyond traditional carpentry into parametric furniture, 3D wall art, functional design pieces, and sustainable seasonal décor. Each creation blends modern design with thoughtful, responsible material selection.

Sustainability is at the core of our creative process. We are committed to plastic-free production, crafting every piece exclusively from premium, eco-conscious wood products. Our materials include solid cedar, birch and maple plywood, MDF, and Medex Exterior Grade MDF panels—chosen for their durability, versatility, and environmental responsibility.

Why We Choose MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard)

MDF plays an important role in our creative work due to its performance and sustainability benefits:

  • Eco-Conscious – Made from sustainably sourced, pre-consumer recycled wood fibers and bonded with formaldehyde-free adhesives.
  • Smooth & Versatile – A flawless, knot-free surface ideal for painting, staining, priming, or sealing.
  • Stable & Cost-Effective – More affordable than solid wood and less prone to warping, twisting, or shrinking.
  • Durable & Protected – Treated to resist termites and common pests.
  • Waste-Reducing – Helps minimize wood waste and reduces demand on virgin forest resources.

Why We Choose Plywood

We work with a variety of plywoods, including birch, maple, white and red oak, walnut, and more, for their strength, beauty, and sustainability:

  • Strength & Stability – Cross-laminated layers resist cracking, warping, and twisting.
  • Lightweight & Durable – Easier to handle than solid wood while remaining strong and reliable.
  • Efficient Use of Resources – Veneer layering maximizes yield and minimizes material waste.
  • Lower Environmental Impact – Requires less energy to produce than materials such as steel or concrete.
  • Biodegradable & Recyclable – A natural material that supports a circular economy.

Our Commitment

Every project is guided by a single principle: beautiful, sustainable craftsmanship that respects nature while delivering lasting quality.

From custom furniture to seasonal decorative pieces, our work reflects a commitment to design innovation, durability, and environmental responsibility—crafted with care, intention, and respect for the materials we use.
